Exclusive Bay of Islands House for Holiday Rental
About the House
| An eco-friendly house that is both
comfortable and luxurious, this house has been designed and furnished for an art- and garden-loving family. In a world where houses, cars and televisions are forever getting less beautiful as they get bigger, this house is different. It’s a peaceful and refreshing haven with an easygoing indoor-outdoor and all-around flow. |

| Designed by internationally-renowned
eco-architect, Graeme North, the house features solar-powered waterheating, a wood-burning fireplace with a wetback system for heating the hot water in the winter, and a semi-circular earth-brick wall around the downstairs living area which absorbs warmth by day and lets it out at night. This is a cool in the summer, warm in the winter, energy-conserving and comfortable house. |

| The TV/guest room is great to get away
and read or watch Sky TV, videos or DVDs. The sofa bed is comfortable and easy to set up for a guest and a desk and chair (not shown) make it one of three ideal places in the house to set up your laptop—all with modem connections. The upstairs bathroom is well-appointed with a shower, heated towel rail—and a gorgeous private view out. |

| The main deck sports fabulous views to
the south and north of the Bay and includes a barbeque and timber deck furniture. The smaller back deck is covered and looks out (through boxed herb gardens) to the back garden which is full of fruit trees and bushes, herbs and salad greens. Below the garden is native bush—bordered by a bush reserve and filled with beautiful and melodious native birds. A public track just around the corner takes you down to a small semi-private beach and coastal walking tracks into both Paihia and Opua. |

| From dawn to sunset, the views are spectacular. The bush is full of birdlife and the sea is constantly interesting with passing yachts and kayaks and visiting dolphins and orcas. Being tucked down at the very tip of the peninsular, the bush and sea life is practically all you will hear. It’s a perfect spot for lovers of tranquility.
